Adlerbert Scholarship 2025

Published

Application period: September 1 - September 26, 2025

Undergraduate and graduate students can apply for the Adlerbertska scholarships, either for travel related to their studies or for living expenses during their studies. Priority is given to scholarships for travel over those for living expenses.

Applicants can only apply for one type of scholarship, and this choice cannot be changed after the application deadline. The scholarship amount is a one-time payment of SEK 15 000. Students may receive a maximum of two scholarships during their undergraduate and graduate studies.

The rules for the scholarship may change before the 2025 application period.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for Adlerbert scholarships, you must:

  • Have completed at least 30 credits at the University of Gothenburg.
  • Be registered for at least 30 credits at the University of Gothenburg during the scholarship year (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026).

Types of Scholarships

You may only apply for one type of scholarship per application round.

1. Scholarship for travel within studies

Intended to finance study-related travel, with priority given to international travel.

2. Scholarship for living expenses

If you are not traveling within your studies, you may apply for a scholarship to help cover your living expenses.

Selection Process

Priority: Applications for international travel within studies are given first priority.

Travel Period: The trip must not begin before January 1, 2025, and must be completed before the start of the autumn semester 2026.

Ranking: Applications are ranked based on the highest number of university credits achieved at the University of Gothenburg by the application deadline.

If funds remain after all applicants that apply for a travel scholarship have been awarded a scholarship, priority is given to domestic travel within Sweden, and lastly to scholarships for living expenses. If there are several applicants with the same amount of university credits achieved, selection may be done with a draw.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted through the university's scholarship application system.

Required Documentation

For travel scholarships:

  • Sumbit details of the destination, dates, and a brief explanation of the purpose of the trip and its relevance to your studies.
  • A cost breakdown for the trip.

Note: Travel to Gothenburg or trips less than 50 kilometers from Gothenburg are not eligible.

For living expense scholarships:

  • No motivation is required. This scholarship is a contribution towards living expenses during your studies at the University of Gothenburg (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026).

Reporting Costs

After your travel, you must report the costs covered by the scholarship in the application system.

Submit your report no later than one month after returning from your trip or receiving a retroactive scholarship payment.

Receipts or supporting documents are not required for reporting.

Changing Your Trip

If you cannot use the scholarship for the original trip, the funds may be used for another study-related trip.

Indicate the change in your report and specify the new destination and/or dates.

Repay the scholarship

If you cannot use your scholarship for travel, you must repay the funds.
