A total of 140 new study places have been created for the students of the Sahlgrenska Academy and the Faculty of Science in the basement of Medicinarelängan and on level 3 of the Lundberg Laboratory. There are group rooms, individual places and collaboration areas.
The main entrance is between Medicinaregatan 7B and 9A, after the Salt & Syra restaurant in the direction of Hälsvetarbacken. To get to the study places in Lundbergslaboratoriet, use the main entrance at Medicinaregatan 9C.
At the same time, 120 lockers, new and reused, have been placed around the study places. The new lockers are impersonal, and you lock and open the locker with your GU card. The idea is not that you should keep things in the lockers overnight, they are automatically unlocked after 12 hours.
One of the project's goals was to use recycled materials. In addition to the loose furnishings, Akademiska Hus has also reused mouldings and floor mats. At the same time, they have not renounced feeling and quality.
- I think we have succeeded well because we have aimed to use as much reused loose furnishings as possible, says Jon Karlsson, project manager at the GU property and sustainable development unit.
Mimmi Kimming has been the students' representative in the steering group.
- I really think that our perspective has been considered. For example, they have listened to the fact that we need slightly larger tables than perhaps first thought for us to have room for both computers and books, says Mimmi.
